The purpose of comparing and contrasting the object is to clarify its similarity and difference. In case the object of comparison is almost identical or remarkably different, it almost comes to lose its value. That is, the highest value of the method of comparative analysis is that the object of comparison shows diversity by exhibiting the difference while having the commonality.
This study found that the image of transparency expressed in costume and makeup shows both the commonality and the difference. The image of transparency expressed in costume presents pureness, eroticism, playfulness and openness, while the image of transparency expressed in makeup represents pureness, naturalness, restraint and openness.
First, pureness conveys the brisk and light feeling with the clean and clear skin tone. It gets away from thick makeup, removes several decorative elements and represents the pureness of transparency through clean and bright expression.
Second, naturalness represents the nude rip makeup, natural bro makeup, nature skin tone and conveys comfortableness. The wish to pursue the unartistical proper look of human beings is found in it.
Third, restraint is expressed by using the smallest amount and color by means of a small amount of makeup base and foundation, clean skin texture and colo sense. It is seen to express the wish of contemporary people to get away from heaviness and live with light sensibilities.
Fourth, openness represents freedom unfettered from the light makeup of the skin tone. this contains the open and free image containing liberation from the bondage of heavy makeup.
