아래턱뼈 수술에서 아래이틀신경과 혈관다발이 지나가는 턱뼈관의 위치를 정확하게 알면 시술의 위험도를 감소시키고, 새로운 시술의 개발에 중요한 자료로 활용할 수 있어, 아래턱뼈 절단면에서 턱뼈관의 위치를 해부학적으로 규명하기 위하여 이 실험을 실시하였다.
실습시신 44구(남 23구, 여자 21구, 평균연령 66.5세)의 아래턱뼈 절단면에서 턱뼈관의 위치를 계측하여 다음과 같은 결과를 획득하였다.
턱뼈관은 턱뼈몸통 먼쪽에서 안쪽에 위치하다 몸쪽으로 가면서 첫째와 둘째작은어금니 사이에서 바깥쪽을 향하였고, 치아 가운데 턱뼈의 절단면에서 턱뼈관의 바닥높이는 8.9±1.9㎜인 첫째큰어금니 위치에서 가장 낮았고, 둘째큰어금니 위치에서 가장 좁아 이틀오목 아래끝에서 턱뼈관까지는 9.5±3.5㎜이었다.
본 연구의 결과는 아래턱뼈 시술에서 합병증을 감소시키거나 새로운 시술개발에 필요한 턱뼈관 위치에 대하여 보편적 경향을 제공할 것으로 생각된다.
