Studies on foraging activity of honeybees at flowers of Cornus officinalis and Prunus mume were investigated in order to evaluate the two species as honey plants from March 18 to April 1 in 2003 at the arboretum in Daegu University. Honeybees visited flowers from 11 to 15 o'clock, while the temperature was over 12℃. More honeybees visited Cornus officinalis than Prunus mume, which were much smaller than the former. Honeybees foraged Cornus officinalis from March 18 to 30 and Prunus mume from March 20 to 31. As honeybees visited these two species over ten days, these two species proved as good honey plants at early spring.
