That-t effect was mainly analyzed in terms of the ECP within the framework of the Government and Binding Theory (GB). But this classical approach is insufficient to account for a variety of data effectively. Therefore in this paper I try to reanalyze that-t effect under the Minimalist Program adopted in Chomsky(1998, 1999). First, I explain that-t effect with the assumptions of Chomsky(1998, 1999) and Szczegielniak(1999), and then I demonstrate that these assumptions have many problems. Next, I present the alternative analysis to solve these problems. This analysis involves several assumptions as follows. First, the embedded C has [Q<SUB>def</SUB>] and EPP-feature, and the matrix C has [Q<SUB>comp</SUB>] and EPP-feature. Secondly, according to Alexiadou, A. and E. Anagnostopoulou(2001)'s proposal, complementiser, that merging from Lexicon into the embedded C can check EPP-feature. Lastly, according to the assumption of Holmberg(1997, 2000), languages with Stylistic Fronting to EPP related position avoid that-t effect. In conclusion, this paper shows that through the above assumptions, that-t effect can be analyzed effectively.
