We have analyzed the contents of the movie "Eyes wide Shut" in connection with myth "Oedipus The King." "Logical procedures" are avoided in myths, and this has a direct relation with the incoherence of incidental events commonly shown in the movie "Eyes Wide Shut" and the myth "Oedipus The King." That is to say, it is because we can find that in Stanley Kubrick's this movie, some incidents which cannot be logically explained at all exist.
For that reason, we analyzed cinematic languages in the movie, such as point of view resulting from the editing, the characters, the situational settings, stage properties, costumes, stage apparatuses, lighting, and colors. We read them as technical materials exhibiting universal human mentality. In this case, the techniques of the movie demonstrated by what kinds of methods mythical themes are displayed.
In other words, this paper is an attempt that intended to reach a psychological structure referred to as "Oedipus Complex" starting from the implication contained by the representative elements of a movie.
