This study was conducted for the purpose of providing basic data by analysing the factors influencing on life-satisfacion and suicidal-ideation for elderly.
Data of this study was collected from over 65 years old who were the members of 6 elderly welfare centers locates in Yeosu city, Chun-nam province, by one on one talks from August 15th to September 15th 2004. 110data sheets were collected among them 113 were used in analyzing.
The major findings of this study were as follows;
1. The level of life-satisfaction was 41.5±9.60(The range of the score was from Min 20-Max 60).
2. The level of the suicidal- ideation was 9.70± 6.39 (The range of the score was from Min 0 to Max 38).
2. There were significant differences in result of the test about the suicidal-ideation level figuring out from general criterion in living-expenses (F=8.351, p=.000), health-condition (F=4.387. p=.006).
3. There was significant negative relation between Life-satisfaction level and suicidal-ideation of the subjects (r=.211, p=.000).
4. The most important variable influencing on suicidal-ideation was health-condition(9.7%) add the variable living expenses, together it explained 17% of the suicidal-ideation.
