Recently, while health and environment became concern, the moderners spend more than 80% of their time in the interior surroundings such as their house or an office. Hence, it is very important to make a comfortable interior surrounding in order to maintain health of the moderners as well as to improve work efficiency and productivity.
As the studio apartments which are newly being built tend to become bigger and protected, the internal heat and air are controlled by the central air conditioning system, which do not allow the occupant to control. In addition, it may cause unpleasant interior surroundings for the occupant. Particularly, for the occupants at work, most of their work conducted inside the office requires mental work rather than physical work, which means that the environmental conditions of the work station is closely connected with human wellness. Also, deterioration of interior surroundings may cause decrease of productivity due to decrease of workers' work efficiency, increase of inertia as well as various types of diseases; therefore, it is critical to maintain efficient interior surroundings.
Therefore, the objective of this research is to evaluate the interior surroundings of studio apartments as well as to understand the relationship between the interior surroundings and work productivity through the subjective assessment andsatisfaction measurement survey of the workers about the interior surroundings, and ultimately to realize the comfortable and healthy work environment based on the survey results.
