This study investigated the teaching anxiety that pre-service primary teachers experience when they teach English in classroom settings. One hundred and seventyone pre-service teachers specializing 5 different majors participated in the study. In order to measure their foreign language teaching anxiety, the Foreign Language Teaching Anxiety Scale (FLTAS) was used. To find out the English teaching anxiety, they were asked to participate in microteaching. The findings of the study are as follows: the pre-service primary English teachers experience foreign language teaching anxiety (FLTA) and their FLTA is higher than in-service primary English teachers'; their FLTA negatively correlated with their English teaching skills and confidence; their FLTA varied according to their English teaching skills and specialized majors. The study identified specific situations and sources of pre-service primary teachers' FLTA and the variables affecting FLTA. In the conclusion, the pedagogical implications to be considered in the pre-service teacher education will be mentioned.
