An attractive foreign direct investment policy has become a key part of national development strategies for many countries. The purpose of this paper is to illustrate the importance of FDI in order to grow national economy of Uzbekistan. In this regard, we will briefly take a look at the current foreign direct investment policy and analyze how well it is working and what conditions and terms must be modified in order to attract more foreign investors and get maximal benefits through FDI. More specifically, our main effort in this work is devoted to analyzing the role of foreign direct investment in further development of the four major industries of the economy such as automobile industry, gas and oil industry, light industry and tourism.
