The aim of this paper is study on the aspects and types of folk-the with which concerned old people's remarriage. Especially in this thesis, I have classified the types of these story-telling to research the structure and means of these texts. And I tried to find a meaning of filial duty in these folk-tales.
There were some differences between the story-telling of the aged remarriage and of the human sacrifice which reflected and attached importance to the filial piety as a prior ideology in Chosun dynasty. This, as we called it confucianism, lay weight on the order of class-conscious.
In the case of the for former, I found that these types of folk-tales got a remarriage in the substantial and human, mutual response between parents and children, and found that the destiny of a daughter-in-law or suns turned better situation, or they solved their trouble easily by the progress of remarriage.
Through these aspects, we can have a conclusion that filial duty is nowhere near the social rules, prestige, or the public attention, but it can be got with sincerity of both sider. Needless to say, filial duty is far from conception of blind devotion or unilateral.
