The two planning factors of [space structure] and [circulation route, i.e., Human's moving path] have determined the form of exhibition space of art museum and are said to guarantee various experience of the art museum visitors. This study will try to identify the nature-element of [space structure] and [circulation route] that involve planning method over different art museums trend. For such a study's purpose, after enlightenment era's art museums are surveyed, classified some types and analyzed according to the schema of the human being's growth recognition suggested by Piaget(Piaget. J, 1896~1980). The results show that the current art museums have different reasons for being(raison d'etre). In particular art museum which is a feature of the 18c enlightenment era's emphasis on civic education and power of curators' intention over that of visitors, was criticized in the study of before. [space structure] and [circulation route] in art museum, They are therefore analyzed and should be understood such varied raison d'etre enables the planning of current various art museums.
