The purpose of this dissertation is to examine the behavioral change in terms the factors of transportation mode choice in Northeast Asia when inter-Korean Railway is connected. More specifically it aims to identify the following factors in details. Firstly, how does the characteristics of Korean company that doing business with Russia and China have impacts on the transport mode choice. Secondly, how does the criteria on the transport mode choice have effect on the selection of transport mode. Thirdly, it identify the effects of the characteristics and the criteria on the transport mode choice on the choice of transport mode. Finally, the dissertation suggests the establishment scheme of railway networks in the Northeast Asia.
The results of the empirical analysis are summarized as follows;
Firstly, in China the cost factor is regarded as an more important factor than time in selecting a transportation mode, and in Tianjin and Dalian rail mode is the preferred transportation mode. Secondly, in Russia the time factor is regarded as an more important factor than cost in selecting a transportation mode, and in Moscow rail mode is more preferred transportation mode than shipping.
