This paper examines the effects of Chinese exchange rates on Korean economy. Given the brief overview on periodical changes in Chines exchange rates and its expected variation in near future, it is shown that how to affect on Korea's export to China and Korea's FDI into China. Also the paper discusses the relationship between Chinese exchange rate and its effects on Korea's international competitiveness in relation with China in international market. A special focus is laid on the fact that the previous depreciation of Chinese Yuan had brought significantly negative effects on East Asian countries and especially on Korea. Also it is mentioned that there is some possibility for China to devaluate its currency when China confronts economic recession caused by increase in unemployment rate and low growth rate. The paper suggests some policy implications for Korea as a counter strategy against further depreciation of Chinese Yuan.
