The purpose of this study was to serve as a basis for discussing the meaning of martial art training based on earlier studies and literatures concerned, and classifying safety education areas and martial art safety education areas. The findings of this study were as below:
First, concerning the safety facilities area in martial art gym, the facilities and equipments inside the gym are directly associated with the safety of trainees. The safety facilities are sorted out into area, office, locker room, floor, ventilation, lighting, heating, air conditioning, washroom, restroom, water supplies and training machines and tools.
Second, the safety of martial art equipments are directly related to the safe martial art training. They should suit individual trainee's ability and training process, and should be safe for anyone. They basically needs to provide motivations to users, be valuable effective, robust, endurable, safe, easy to manage, multifunctional and designed for multipurpose. In particular, the equipments and tools should be selected in a way to observe the specific regulations so that trainee could take safe training physically and mentally.
Third, the martial art health and hygienic safety area is connected to the harmony with living environment. The martial art gym, trainee, leader, training facilities, training tools and equipments all belong to the environmental hygiene area in martial art, which has a direct relation to the sanitation of trainees. The environmental hygiene basically means to ensure the sanitation of all the facilities in and outside the gym, climate, heating condition, indoor air, water, beverage and training uniform.
Fourth, in the martial art equipment checkout area, any elements that pose a threat to the safety of trainees should be eliminated promptly by inspector to prevent any possible safety accidents. What should be handled on a department level should be notified to the department concerned for swift removal. What can't be handled on a personal level should be reported to the office worker in charge and to the head of the gym, and a proper warning sign should be attached.
Fifth, in the first-aid area for any safety accidents, the fist-aid service should be offered to patient who is injured due to safety accident until the medical team arrives. In case any emergency takes place, the first-aid priority should be determined considering to how much the life of patient is threatened.
