In an effort to increase the yield and stability of honey production and to reduce dependence on the black locust as a nectar source by year-round production, the flower duration and nectar secretion characteristics of Evodia daniellii Hemsl were evaluated in this study. In our investigation of E. daniellii, the flowers first began to bloom on July 16th. The male flowers bloomed for 18 days until August 3rd, and the female flowers began to bloom on August 1st, when the majority of the male flowers fell, and persisted for 11 days until August 12th. Honey bee pollination occurred when the E. daniellii flowers had fully bloomed for 5 days from 07:00 to 19:00, the flower visiting behaviors of honeybees were fully active at 08:00, and a peak of flower visiting activity was observed at 09:00. As the result of our investigation of the quantities of floral nectar secretion, the average amount of floral nectar of the male flower was 2.23㎕ and that of the female flower is 4.02㎕.
