This study shows the nine current conflicts in Korean society - class conflict, industrial conflict, medical service conflict, ideological conflict, regional conflict, conflict on the system of picking out lawyer, generational conflict, gender conflict, and environmental conflict - by literatures review and basic content analysis.
There are three conflicts such as industrial conflict, medical service conflict and class conflict in economic dimension. In industrial conflict, employers have currently defeated laborer and labor union by transferring a manufacturing plant abroad, for example, asian countries such as China. So industrial conflict will be highly reduced hereafter. After IMF economic crisis, Korean society has been bi-polarized by higher unemployment rate and new conservatism. Also there is the high increasement of conflicts in medical service by protesting against the dishonest treatment of doctors.
There are also three conflicts in political dimension. In Korea, ideological conflict shows very high incidence rate and violence rate, which is attributed to the legacy of military regimes and the overlap of various conflicts such as regional conflict. Regional conflict has been gradually increased owing to the having continued conflict between one area and the other, and the newly having increased conflict between Seoul metropolitan city and the other areas. Also the conflict on the introduction of law school such as USA, which has been recently happened in political dimension, will be continued until the confirmation and the enforcement of new law school system.
In social dimension, there are three conflicts02 - such as generational conflict, gender conflict, and environmental conflict. the generation conflict has generally overlapped by ideological conflict in Korea. Hereafter, this conflict will be increased by the high unemployment rate and the favor tendency on elder laborer in recruiting practice. Also the enhancement of the status of women will highly increase gender conflict such as divorce, sharing of domestic labor, promotion in workplace and etc.. The rapid enhancement of citizenship in Korea will generate the more incidence of conflicts than that of the past.
Though the various conflicts have been highly increased, the future of Korean society is hopeful. Because this increasement of conflicts is attributed to the some optimistic phenomena, such as the enhancement of women rights, minority rights, citizenship, and etc.
