This paper aims to explain two specific characteristics in the long-formed negation sentence which a negation predicate 'mal(말)-' constructs. The predicate 'mal-' is a supplement element for another negation predicate 'anh(않)-' and 'motha(못하)-' when the sentence type is the imperative or the propositive sentence.
We are interested in the question whether the 'hachi'(하지)' ellipsis occurs or not in the 'NP/ADVP hachi mal-' construction. It is generally used to accept the ellipsis of 'hachi' because two sentences, the original form and the ellipsis form have the same meaning. We, however, do not have any syntactic evidence for this phenomenon. When a 'mal-' forms the long-formed negation sentence, this becomes to be a kind of the serial verb construction(SVC). By reason that the omission of the first verb is abnormal at SVC, the 'hachi-' ellipsis has to be prohibited perfectly. Therefore these two forms are not the same structure at all.
Now we mainly focus on the sentence type which has not 'hachi-', There are also two types of them, the one is the construction 'NPmal-' and the other 'ADVP mal-'. The former is general type of the transitive construction, the immediately preceding NP object of 'mal-' and transitive verb 'mal-' construct another transitive predicate. We can name this Complex predicate verb(CP-V). And then this CP-V has preceding NP as the objective. At the result, there are two objects in this construction. On the other hand, the latter has just one objective in the construction totally. The 'ADVP mal-' become to be a CP-V which has not any object of 'mal-' in itself first, then this has preceding NP as the object next.
