The development of information technology has changed the human life styles as well as the societal and the economic paradigm. New office environments to support office works have been proposed to cope with emerging changes. Recently, the office environments deal with the ubiquitous computing with a focus on collaboration and mobile communication to promote real-time enterprises. This study describes a significant issue on a new office environment using ubiquitous computing.
In this study, we would identify the non-territorial office corresponding to the changing work environment and systematizes office's work such as knowledge work and clerical work. We investigate relate works and analyze examples such as mobile office, telework center and home office. Finally, we will propose the direction of applying the non-territorial office focused on two attributes of collaboration and mobility in the ubiquitous computing environments.
This research will suggest how to systematize, control and manage the context of an office environment. Tn the end, it is expected to offer a theoretical basis to embody the intelligent office and apply an office environment understanding and reacting office works.
