From the Duwibong Formation distributed in the Dogye area in the southeastern part of the Samcheog coalfield Rafinesquina, Actinoceras, Kochoceras, Discoactinoceras, Armenoceras, Nybyoceras, Ormoceras, Orthonybyoceras, Sactorhoceras and Stereoplasmoceras are found, and some of species belonging to these genera are described. Most of the specimens are partly preserved, but the internal structures are fairly well preserved, enabling to find some biostratigraphic meaning. Geologic structure of the Dogye area is analysed by the planar structures, folds, faults, and thrust faults. Most of these characteristics are plotted as stereograms and rose diagrams. A new finding of tectonic cycle seems to indicate an age of late Cretaceous or later age, visualised by the overthrust which has brought the Cambro-Ordovician limestones to cover the Cretaceous strata. It has been a rule to date the thrust movement in Korea only to Jurassic, the Daebo Orogeny, but our structural study in the Dogye area seems to cast a new light on the orogenic age which is younger than Jurassic in age.
