    The central region of the Ryeongnam Massif as well as its southern boundary with the Kyeongsang Basin are the highest seismic areas of the massif. Seismicity in the central region of the massif generally follows its protruding boundary with the Kyeongsang Basin, suggesting the tectonics for the development of the boundary has been closely related to the seismic activity of the area. A correlation between the seismicity and the density of tectonic lineaments is observed. The tectonic lineaments of the massif trend predominantly in the Sinian Direction. The attitude of bedding planes of Cretaceous sedimentary rocks along the Andong Fault in the vicinity of Andong turns out to be heavily disturbed. Radioactive survey of the Andong Fault in the vicinity of Andong failed to reveal any positive evidence of active fault. Geomagnetic survey of the fault as well as radioactive survey revealed the lithological difference along the fault in agreement with the local geology. Geoelectric survey of the fault revealed low resistivity associated with it. The Andong Fault turned out to be a thrust fault dipping about 40° north-northeast by gravity survey.
