This dissertation is aimed to correlate the angular unconformities, that have been known and newly established by the writer in Korea, with those in America and Japan. This led to configuration of the crustal movements in Korea. On the assumption that a certain crustal movement would take place nearly at the same time within a limited area, the correlation was made using several key formations whose geological ages are known. They are T. Kobayashi's Chikunsan shale and Tsuibon limestone of Ordovician, H. Yabe's Tenseiri Series of Devonian, C.H. Cheong's Geumcheon Formation of Carboniferous, Lower Sadong Series of Sakmarian of Permian, the base of Nogam Series of Triassic, the Daedong System of Jurassic and Silla Series of Cretaceous, and B.K. Kim's Yeonil Series of Tertiary. This study indicates that the major crustal movements in Korea are in accordance with those of America and Japan in their geological ages. Many crustal disturbances are clarified by the writer, besides the I. Tateiwa's Shorin phase and Taiho disturbance, Naktong phase, Shiragei phase as well as Bukkokuji disturbance. It is also disclosed that Caledonian and Hercynian orogenies are also important factors in the crustal movements in Korea. The last phase of Hercynian orogenies are clearly defined. Several Cretaceous disturbances in Korea are also detected as those in Japan. Kobayashi's Akiyoshi orogenic cycle, which comprises a concept that only some up-and-down movements took place during the period from Early Cambrian to Early Triassic in Eastern Asia, may not be applicable in Korea. However, Minato's concept on the Paleozoic tectonics may be acceptable.
