The purpose of this study is to verify the relationship between achievement goal orientation and dance confidence in the college students who are majoring in dance. The study objects were 275 college students who are majoring in dance among the universities located in the Seoul and Gyeong-gi Province. Among the survey questionaries, the non-diligent answers or non-answered surveys were eliminated and only surveys answered by 260 students were used as substantial materials for the study. The data processing was conducted through using the SPSS/ win version program 17.0 and the results are as follows. First, through analyzing the differences in achievement goal orientation accordingly to the demographic characteristics, 1) grade level were only task goal orientation showed a significant different. 2) major were both task goal orientation and self-goal orientation had significant differences. 3) dance career were only self-goal orientation showed a significant difference. 4) practice time in a week were both task goal orientation and self-goal orientation had a level of significance but with 0.05, it didn’t show a significant difference statistically. Secondly, through analyzing the differences between the dance confidence according to demographic characteristics, 1) grade level showed significant difference in only proving ability and physically/ mentally preparation. 2) majors showed significant difference only in proving ability and physically/ mentally preparation. 3) the difference in dance confidence according to the dance career showed a 0.05 statistic level in all aspects of coach leadership, demonstrated ability, physical! mental preparation with 0.05 statistic level so it didn't show a significant level of difference. 4) dance practice time in a week showed a significant difference. Thirdly, the relationship between achievement goal orientation and dance confidence, had a significant affect on the achievement goal orientation and the leadership of leader, demonstrated ability, and physical/ mental preparation.
