All of Jin Yong’s martial arts fictions are legends of heroes as the core, meanwhile, basic characters like orphan identity has given to heroes like Guo Jing, Xiao Feng, Linghu Chong, Hu Fei etc. The transcendental orphan prototype of hero becomes a pattern in Jin Yong’s novels, and this is the same to the epic story, a kind of eastern and western folk literature. This paper analyzes the prototype of hero growth mode and personality characteristics in Jin Yong’s martial arts fictions from prototype psychology, it shows Jin Yong is always in the creation of “pursuing new and change” and also constrained to lineages and transcend lineage. Above all, Jin Yong’s martial arts fictions showed extremely complex configuration of the writing outlook.
