Measuring instruments for detecting temperatures among the depths in construction site of the Jangbogo antarctic research station(74° 37′ S, 164° 12′ E) were used to investigate the thermal behavior of frozen ground. The temperatures among the depth were measured during detailed investigation period from February 07, 2011 to February 12, 2011. The results show that as the depth increase the temperature decrease. The temperature change from -1.5℃ to -12℃.
This study makes it possible to analyze the effect of temperature profile in frozen ground on the range of permafrost, thickness of active layer and geo-technical structures and to apply the design parameters, which reflect the thermal characteristic, to frozen ground.
