We propose two new electrode configurations for breast EIT imaging. In both cases, we use many voltage-sensing electrodes and only a few current injection electrodes. Using each pair of current-injection electrodes, we try to produce internal current flows approximately along the tangential direction of the array of the voltage-sensing electrodes. This kind of planar current flows allows us to measure voltages between the induced equipotential lines in the normal direction to the voltage-sensing electrode array. Introducing two novel electrode configurations, we describe new admittivity reconstruction algorithms using multiple boundary voltage data.
