This paper aims to analyze the novel of henequen Children by Moon Young-Sook which narrates history about Korean migrant workers to Mexico. Migration is a historical phenomenon which is older than the settlement. So the history of migration is as old as the history of human beings. Recently we can see many stories related to migrant labours, the married internationally, and Kosian. For example, 「A Black Egg」, 「The Toss of Bluesia」, 「Uncle Kumara on the roof」, 「A lonely Jimmy」, 「My mother is Woman Blanca」, 「My Mother's Country」, 「Mocam and Meo」, 「A plane for South Korea」, 「Wandeukyi」, most of migrant labour characters are described as good people in the stories. But Koreans are not good compared to them. They are vicious so to speak. There appear some ideal people who control the conflict between them.
The word of ‘diaspora’ originates from the Greek language ‘diasporein’ containing ‘dia’ and ‘speirein’ which mean scatter, spread and disperse. Nowadays the word diaspora has been widely expressed by the people from immigrants, refugees, asylum to abroad immigrant, ethnic community.
So henequen Children, one of Korean dispora literatures shows growth process of henequen Children, especially Deokbae, Yunjae and Bongsam. These characters is growing through feelings of compassion and solidarity of Chosun, imagined Communities. Therefore these children characters confirm their identity through sense of nation. It is a critical action of innovating the current situation and searching for the communication for Korean writers to take the diaspora lives as an object of the novel.
