Cultural influences on a person are of great magnitude. This study focuses on cultural influence on one"s spirituality, especially the concept of God. The purpose of this paper is to determine the difference between Korean and American children"s concept of God. One hundred forty American children from large Baptist churches in Tenant County, TX and one hundred eighty-seven Korean children from large Baptist churches in Dae-jeon and Kong-ju cities participated in this study. Statistically significant differences were found in God concept scores between two groups, with American"s scoring higher. By analyzing each question, it was found that Korean children showed higher scores only in reversed scoring questions. Reversed scoring questions require participants" subjective opinions, not just memorization and their feelings. This result may come from the Oriental religious culture that emphasizes experiences and sense. There was no difference in children"s God concept according to their age, gender, or percentage of church attendance, which is not consistent with previous research findings.
