    In this study, empirical demonstration of the hypothesis that a mirror neuron is “a powerful or the only method that can solve the ill-posed problems in both cognition and control” was tried. In the system, a hand posture database with the movement data for recognition was constructed and was enhanced by interpolation. When unknown video images are input to the system, the likelihood image is searched according to local patterns of high order local autocorrelation The system estimated the human hand posture and reproduced the same movement by controlling a dexterous robot hand at comparatively high precision within video rate, including the input of hand postures which the system has not observed and has no motion experience in the past, which may suggest that the mirror neuron recognizes our hand postures with a database constructed by learning and experience, not with a model matching method, so as to decrease the processing time.
