To overcome the safety and productivity of the NEV(Neighborhood electric vehicle), we applied the ultra high strength steel tube pipe and evaluated properties and characteristic with expanding, bending and metal flow test of the ultra high strength steel tube pipe materials. Next step, we designed the small sized UEV(Urban electric vehicle) with ultra high strength steel space frame and analyzed the static stiffness(bending and Torsion) and performed the frontal crash based on KNCAP regulations. As a result, we could meet design target and suggest the direction of safety design for UEV with ultra high strength steel space frame.
