The purpose of this paper is to grasp the Type and Characteristic of Homa Rites in the Anuttarayoga-tantra. In general the rites of Homa of thd Buddhistic tantra considers to be the origin of Vedic Homa Rites and to accept such rites in buddhism. Especially the text of Anuttarayoga-tantra accepted the ritual elements of the Hinduism and developed its own theory and the practice system.
Vedic Homa Rites emphasizes the performance procedure of Homa rites but The text of Buddhistic tantra in middle age puts more stress on inner Homa than outer Homa. That is to say, the outer Homa of Buddhistic tantra in middle age is reinterpreted and seems to be integrated in the aspect of inner Homa related meditation practice.
In the Anuttarayoga-tantra, the Homa rites succeeds to the point of inner Homa and developes visualization Homa and Homa to be performing in the body. The outer Homa of Buddhistic tantra in middle age inclines to be stress on inner Homa and agrees to such a point of view in the Anuttarayoga-tantra. However the performance of the outer Homa in the Anuttarayoga-tantra is done in order to satisfy desire of a believer of buddhist. Therefore the Homa rites in the Anuttarayoga-tantra changes in accordance with the subject of Homa. This means if the suject of wishing the Homa is a believer of buddhist, the Homa rites is carried out outer Homa. And in case of the discipline of Buddhistic tantra, it is performed as the type of visualization Homa and Homa to be performing in the body.
