This dissertation is written in order to research for the hermitage song Buddhist Gasa style in two aspects. The first aspect is about the genre of the hermitage song Buddhist Gasa style, the second aspect is about the ideology of the hermitage song Buddhist Gasa style.
Firstly, in the aspect of the genre of the hermitage song Buddhist Gasa style, I separated the hermitage song Buddhist Gasa style into lyric hermitage song Buddhist Gasa style and descriptive hermitage song Buddhist Gasa style. In the lyric hermitage song Buddhist Gasa style, the persona expressed it’s daily life in natural environment and it’s emotion: sensitive emotion and religious emotion. In the descriptive hermitage song Buddhist Gasa style, the persona taught all living beings about the truth of Buddhist thought and how to practice themselves by the way of the Buddhism.
Secondly, I researched the ideologic destination about the recognition of all existences and self-practicing, teaching all living beings. In the recognition of all existences, the persona thought that they are all empty according to Buddha’s teaching. Next in self-practicing, the persona trained Seon[禪] meditation, specially Huadu meditation. But in the teaching all living beings, the persona taught all living beings how to practice Amitabul chanting[念佛] and Amitabul chanting meditation[念佛禪].
Even though I studied the hermitage song Buddhist Gasa style in this research paper, there could be the other Buddhist Gasa style. I might continue researching the other Buddhist Gasa style related with this style next time in the near future.
