Subway environment requires efficient ventilation systems. In the major cities, subway is widely used, public transportation. The Platform Screen Doors installation improves the air quality in the station but degrades the air quality in the subway tunnel. Proper ventilation system is needed to maintain Indoor Air Quality in the subway tunnel. The model subway tunnel is made to investigate the ventilation systems in the tunnel. The model subway tunnel airflow is simulated and analyzed by using ANSYS CFX software. The numerical analyses are compared with experimental results. The flow characteristics with guide vane and air-curtain installations in the tunnel are discussed in the paper. The velocity and mass flow rates in the tunnel are also investigated.
