This study conducted survey on dissatisfaction factors and preferred items about clothes to wear when commuting by bicycle with club members and general people. This is preliminary study for design of pattern for bike fashion product and aimed to suggest basic material for it. The study results are as follows. Although there are many populations at the 40ties who commute by bicycle, consideration for them in fashion industry has been very poor. Accordingly, special attention should be given to the middle-aged rather than young generation. The middle-aged is active in commuting by bicycle for prevention of abdominal obesity and adult diseases. But the feel awkward because the clothes were stuck to body. So, development considering running movement and body type of the middle-aged should be made while the design being fit to a daily life. Especially, study on angle of pocket considering a streamline shape should be first carried out. And development of alternative item is required focusing on item with high dissatisfaction.
