The purpose of the study were to provide the basic data by which to establish an effective credit recovery support system by identifying the factors affecting the debt payment rescheduling of multiple delinquents who do not properly comply with a debt payment rescheduling program and cannot pay off their repayments. Collected herein is the debt payment rescheduling application data of 118 credit delinquents who applied for debt payment rescheduling due to arrearage in their debt payments, among 299 multiple delinquents who were confirmed for reception of first phase credit recovery support after their application to the Credit Counseling & Recovery Service.
A research model was established in an effort to prepare a measure through identification of multiple delinquents who could not properly repay their debts according to the debt payment rescheduling program. A logistic regression analysis was carried out, and the results are presented below:
First, the existence of debts that do not qualify as the subjects of debt payment rescheduling, and are a burden to be repaid along with the debts included in the debt payment rescheduling package, are indicated as increasing the possibility of debt payment rescheduling most.
Second, as a result of examining debt payment rescheduling determinants, the potential for debt rescheduling application is noted to be higher as the delinquent"s monthly income is lower.
Third, regularity of income, rather than income amount, is demonstrated to have an impact upon whether to apply debt payment rescheduling, considering that differences in debt payment rescheduling determinants according to occupations derive from the regularity of income.
