The purpose of this study was to suggested the alternatives on the department identity of physical education with trying the approach of history context and social political context. To reflect the department identity of physical education, I investigated that history of the first department of physical education in Ewha Women university, the story of Chinese restaurant(department name), of aunt story(class content) metaphorically and suggested that the alternatives method of the department identity of physical education. The results are as follows. I suggested two survival strategies for the department identity of physical education as one department. One is to educate consilience human being through the consilience education. The other is to abolish practical admission tests of physical education department, and I attempted to change physical education department into research-oriented department. Now It is need to consilience making human being who can do consilience at the same time, and can combines between theory and practice of physical education.
