The purpose of this study was to compare the change of elementary school students" environmental literacy based on the type of environmental education program. Pre-post test experimental group design was applied. One hundred forty-four third~fifth grade elementary school students in Daegu were selected and assigned to three groups. Three groups participated as two experimental groups(n=20, n=76) and a control group(n=48). Group1 participated in long-term lecture & activity-focused environmental education program, group2 participated in short-term experience-focused environmental education program, and group3 participated in regular school class. The data were collected by a reconstructed questionnaire and analyzed through t-test and ANCOVA. The results of this study indicated that after participating the programs, the students in two experimental groups represented significantly better scores on environmental knowledge, environmental values and belief, and environmental behavior compared to the control group students except environmental sensitivity. There was no significant change in environmental sensitivity for both experimental groups students.
