This study is to find out the alcohol problems by participating leisure activities among the elderly. The participants of the study were 344 elderly and the results are as follows. First, there were more female elderly in this study and their age ranges from 70 to 74 the most. Their level of education as below elementary school graduation and financial status as middle were the most. Second, most of the elderly in this study participated in social recreational activities. The participating rates of social recreational, hobby, and sports activities were almost similar but participating rate of rest activities was the lowest. Third, the alcohol problems by types of leisure activities were highest among the elderly who do sports activities as a leisure. Also, the differences of alcohol problems between the sports and the rest activities were significant. Based on these findings, implications and practical strategies for leisure activities and alcohol problems among the elderly were suggested.
