This study aim was to investigate the effect of career self-efficacy on career decision-making in physical high school students and support fundamental material for decision-making process.
For this study, 470 of male and female high school students(third grade) who selected randomly from fifteen sports high school in the provinces and the cities were participated. For data analysis, mean and standard deviation scores were calculated, descriptive analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, one-way ANOV A and multiple regression analysis were used.
The result of this study were as follow:
First, female students of sports high school showed higher career self-efficacy and the group of between 3 to 5 years’ career experiences showed higher career self-efficacy and the group with prize-winning experiences demonstrated higher levels of career self-efficacy. Also, high level of household monthly income demonstrated higher career self-efficacy.
Second, the group of man-to-man type sport events scored higher career decision-making and the group of prize-winning experiences showed meaningful significance indicating higher career decision-making.
In the variable of parents’ education level the students whose parents’ education level was lower than others showed the tendency to use the intuitive type of decision making.
Lastly, All factor of career self-efficacy including rational type, intuitive type and dependent type showed significantly effect on career decision-making.
Therefore, this study may suggest that solving problems variable is more important to improve their self making decision and leaders should recognize that the solving problem ability is meaningful and they need to draw students’ ability to make their decision.
