This study is to examine the freedom or free will in Descartes. The question of freedom or free will is indeed a major issue for modern philosophy. Descartes" philosophy played an important role in this. However, Cartesian freedom has not been interpreted properly. Specifically, some philosophers consider in general that freedom in Descartes concerns metaphysics, and Cartesian freedom is characterized by infinite product of modern man as master of the world. Accordingly, they take such liberty as the general problem of the modern world. Yet freedom is also Gartesian morality. One must look at the issue of Descartes" freedom in two areas. Descartes himself poses the degree of freedom which implies a relationship between the subject and his act. In this sense, Descartes understands better than anyone the freedom to act in person. In addition, Descartes explains freedom as passion. The freedom of an individual does not oppose the freedom of others.
