The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of circuit training and black garlic intake on body composition, blood cholesterol and C-reactive protein for middle-aged women. Twenty-eight healthy women were randomly assigned to exercise group (A, n=7), black garlic intake group (B, n=7), exercise with black garlic intake group (C, n=7), and control group (D, n=7). Circuit training composed of aerobic exercise and muscular exercise, which consist of 10 motion exercises; jumping shaking, kneel down push up, standstill running, squat, uphill walking, crunch, jumping squat, side lunge, PT jumping, and back lifting. The variables of body composition, blood cholesterol and C-reactive protein(CRP) were measured in all the participants before and after the 12-weeks study. The findings of this study were as follows; The % fat was in exercise group, black garlic intake group and exercise with black garlic intake group were significantly decreased than that in control group. The HDL-C in exercise with black garlic intake group was significantly increased than that in control group. LDL-C and TG in exercise group, black garlic intake group and exercise with black garlic intake group were significantly decreased than that in control group. Our findings indicate that the circuit training with black garlic intake improves body composition, blood cholesterol and C-reactive protein for middle-aged women. Consequently, the circuit training with black garlic intake will be effective for preventing life style diseases caused by middle-aged women.
