This study was carry out to investigate productivity which were weight gain, feed efficient, carcass productivity, internal organ weight, and blood test by feeding Glycyrrhiza uralensis fisch(GUF) powder for 6 weeks on the broiler chicken. The experiment are based on addition GUF powder of none(control), 0.1%, 0.3%, and 0.5%. The results are as follows. When the GUF was added, all the group had total weight growth weight is higher than control. In all the addition feeding GUF groups had higher weight gain growth range between 2,891g and 3,010g comparing with the opposite parties average 2,604g(p<0.01). In the feed intake amounts, those groups which didn"t addition was the lowest 4,650g. In contrast, GUF addition group feed intake amounts was increased as much as weight growth. In feed conversion rate, GUF added group"s rate range between 1.68 and 1.67 had been improved comparing with the control average 1.79(p<0.05). The carcass weight with 24 hours fasting(drink, no food) after completely feeding test showed GUF 0.5% added group of 2,252g is higher than control group average 2,086g(p<0.05). Live weight verse carcass rate (77.01%) in the 0.5% GUF showed slightly higher than the opposite parties average 76.01%. The heart weight 16.55g of 0.5% GUF group was slightly heavier than the other groups. The spleen weight, 3.37g of 0.3% herb powder group is heavier than other treatments(p<0.01). The liver weight, in the GUF addition treatments 54.21~57.24g were slightly heavier than control 52.92g. Healthy individual"s color of liver has to be pinkish red or dark red with luster. In GUF powder added groups have healthy pinkish red color liver than the control. The serum total protein in the 0.5% GUF group has slightly higher other treatments. The serum albumin concentration in the GUF treatment groups have slightly higher than control. The total bilirubin density in serum of the control(0.29mg/dl) was the lower than GUF treatment groups.
GOT concentration of the control(211.5 IU/L) was the highest than GUF treatment groups(205.6~209.0 IU/L). GPT concentration of the control treatment(25.61 IU/L) was highest among other GUF treatment groups(12.23~15.64 IU/L). In the case of LDH concentration in serum, the control treatment was lowest(2,654 IU/L) than GUFl added groups(2,685~2,748 IU/L). Glucose contents in serum were more or less same in all the groups which is 223.7~228.6mg. It was analyzed that in all the groups contents of triglycerides were less than 10 mg/dl which is very normal concentration. Total cholesterol concentration were, 0.1%, 0.3% GUF added group were 176.1mg/dl ,179.4mg/dl each while the opposite parties was 180.5 mg/dl, but 0.5% added group contained highest with 185.9 mg/dl. HDL-cholesterol range in all the groups were between 98.4 and 112.4mg/dl and GUF mixture added group had slightly higher than the control treatment. The LDL-cholesterol concentration in the case of control(82.1mg/dl) was the highest in all the groups and then in the 0.1% GUF added group(66.5mg/dl) was the lowest among other treatments.
