The local open library of elementary school is a space that takes a life-long learning by a human physiological cycle and that the user of a facility can get a help to take a voluntary learning & a life-long learning by a grave role of an education. Now, the rate of an installation for a library of an elementary school is over 86.3%.
The investigative object, the elementary school is located in Seoul and was selected as an elementary school with a dimension of more than 240㎡.
This research examined space conditions by furnitures, colors, finish materials, fixtures, etc. The library is divided spaces for lending & returning, space for documentary information, space for information of image & electronic information, learning space and resting space. The object of this research is to offer a basic information for a plan of space of school library by examining and analyzing nature of interior environment about school library that is opened to take a life-long learning.
