Leisure time is increasing as 5 working day system spreads due to improvement in life level by increase in peoples’ income, which is a natural result of rapid development of modern society. As leisure time increases, focus of consumption pattern is changing from quantity to quality. It is realized that change from gross family system to nuclear family system due to social and economical development of Korea has resulted higher concerns on nurture or education of children. Also, consumption on children is increasing in various patterns. Especially, children space targeting for children are increasing as well. There are many various children spaces like commercial space, exhibition space, cultural space, public space (playground) etc for a number of children.
Like this, originally, indoor playground was a space focusing on children’s play facility; however, today’s kids’ cafe is gradually becoming not only available for infants to children but also for parents with children. Kids’ cafe is a new conceptual complex cultural space that not only offers the ‘edutainment’ functions with safe and various play facility and gradually improving educational program etc but also relaxing rest time for parents while their children works on educational program and plays. Purpose and importance of this study is to suggest guidelines to make a better kids’ cafe and to accomplish these, case analysis on space of kids’ cafe and speatial analysis through fundamental characteristics of theme park were executed.
