Waterfront is an environmentally sensitive space, but have been functioned as the residents’ living spaces for a long time. For this reason, it is important to analyze the residents’ attitudes when the government adopts the tourism development policy on the waterfront. This study analyzes the attitudes differences of waterfront tourism development which regional residents recognize using demographic and living variables. The Gapyeong-gun where waterfront tourism development has long been in progress, is selected as a study area, two hundred seven residents’ responses are analyzed using frequency, descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), analysis of variance (ANOVA) and follow-up analysis. This study finds that there are some significant differences between residents groups at the variables of age, job, education, living period and living region and living variables such as living period and region make more difference than demographic variables.
