This Study analyzes the phenomenon of Ara-Waterway Ara-Marina, which is one of marine sports facilities for the revitalization of leisure and marine sports, and the phenomenon, a qualitative research method, is employed as a study method. The results were as follows:
Firstly, in the aspect of the local development due to marina facilities, the Ara-Marina creates new jobs so that local seniors can have the job opportunity and resumes their social life. In addition, they has a great expectation for the local development due to the revitalization of logistics and tourism by the utilization of Ara-Waterway. But, there is one thing to be improved that visitors cannot use a means of public transportation and it is very inconvenient for them to visit there by any means of traffic, though lots of people can visit there easily and conveniently. Secondly, the role of marina as marine sports facility is the convenience for users because of newly advanced facilities that existing marinas are not equipped with. Due to moderate waves and constant wind in this place, even beginners can receive an education easily. Unfortunately, however, for middle or high-class users, this place has few things to be improved such as difficulties or inconveniences corning from the accessibility to the West Sea, the time and procedures for passing through the lock gate, etc. Meanwhile, Ara-Marina plays not only an intrinsic role of marina, but also provides a safe refuge or shelter for fishing vessels from the storm, which is greatly welcomed by local fishers.
