For investigation on the present status of exotic weeds in Korea since 1981, the number of exotic weed species by family, their found time and its native regions have been examine through literature survey. And also field survey was conducted for five years from 1995 to 1999. Exotic weed found in Korea until 2001 from 1981 are composed of 135 species in 27 family. Among the weed flora, exotic weed of 83 species have been found for recent five years from 1995 to 1999. The numbers of exotic weed species by the native regions were 63, 27, 18 and 7 in Europe, North & South America and Asia, respectively. Since 1981, exotic weeds occurred in cultivated area has been surveyed as 12 species. 3 species among these weeds were inhabited in paddy field and the rest 9 species occurred in upland. As a result of investigating exotic weed in cultivated area from 1995 to 1999, new unreported weeds were investigated as 34 species of 13 family and new Korean name was given.
