The purpose of this study is to propose a plan for the use of the space underneath elevated station as mixed-use community facility. Despite high demands and expectations for use of the space that secures excellent accessibility, it was unable to be used actively and was left as marginal space. In terms of more efficient use of space, if we discover the value of the under-space and use it as the new site for architecture, the role of elevated station will be expanded to offer mixed-use space combined with new program for local residents. This study will focus on the Jamsilnaru station and propose a design of mixed-used community facility for various users including local residents, commuters and bike riders and for connection between adjacent urban-spaces separated by the enormous structure.
