초록·키워드
This study examines how the immanent development theory has been developed in the radical network of East Asia(1955-1989). The immanent development theory has been initiated in the 1960-1970s and used as a main framework to study Korean history in the 1980s. This study particularly focuses on KAJIMURA Hideki, a significant Japanese historian in the network and his era (1955-1989). He introduced North Korean history to Japan and developed the immanent development theory. He also fought against the Korea-Japan Treaty and supported for the democracy movement in South Korea. Interestingly, in contrast with the criticism in Japan during 1980s, his theory was highlighted by Korean historians in Korea.
Therefore, this study reviews the contrasts of history between Korea and Japan in the 1980s and seeks to criticize Kajimura Hideki and the immanent development theory.
