A purpose of this study is to investigate temporal and spatial gait parameters in nordic walking(NW), general walking(GW) and power walking(PW). Sixty healthy students who had no history of surgery and injury in the last six months participated in the study. Temporal and spatial parameters of gait were analysed for using the computerized GAITRite system. The results are as follows. In the characteristics of temporal gait, gait velocity of NW were faster than GW and slower than PW. Double support of NW were higher than PW and lower than GW. In the spatial gait parameters, compared to GW and PW, NW has longer step length and stride length. There is ta significant correlation between gait velocity and temporal parameters. In the spatial parameters, step length and stride length correlation with lower extremity. In conclusion, NW is an effective exercise that increases safety and efficiency.
