Current sign systems in subway station are very complicated and ambiguous due to disorderly billboards, vague direction boards, and various pictogram. In other words, the passengers using subway cannot be offered effective information. Therefore, the improvement plan to reduce visual disorder and deliver exact informations is needed for passengers using subway.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the sigh system in subway station buildings and search future direction related to improvement plan. The method of this study is literature review and field survey research.
Firstly, we collect the data related works for subway sigh system and analyze. Secondly, we develop the analysis view for field survey based on the analyzed data. Thirdly, field survey is conducted focused on the analysis view, Finally, we evaluate the existing condition of sign system in subway station and suggest a solution to improve the sign system in subway station.
This study has contributed to offer effective information for the passengers using subway and the basic data of the improvement plan of sign system.
